
Yu-Meng Yang is a Paris-based Chinese born filmmaker and aspiring writer-director. Now she is pursuing a master degree in filmmaking in 3iS Paris (Institut international de l'image et du son).
Born in Guiyang, a city located in Southwesten China. Before starting filmmaking career, she gained a BA in Chinese Language and Literature in Minzu University of China (MUC). She finished her one-year filmmaking program in Czech Republic (Prague Film School) before coming to France.
Her works focus on the complexities in relationships of modern society, the irony of life depicted in a deadpan way, and the self-reflectivity through the narration and the blend of medias. With the blend of unconventional film language, visual metaphors, lyrical or structural narration and surrealism or magical realism, her works look like the modern fables exploring topics in common in the modernity.
