
Yu-Meng Yang is a Paris-based filmmaker working across directing, screenwriting, editing, production, and experimental moving image.
Born in Guiyang, a city located in Southwesten China. Before starting filmmaking career, she gained a BA in Chinese Language and Literature in Minzu University of China (MUC). She finished her one-year filmmaking program in Czech Republic (Prague Film School) and a master in filmmaking in 3iS (Elancourt, France).
Her work explores the uncertainties embedded within constructed systems of order, and the forms of self-reflectivity that emerges under external pressure. Blending unconventional film language with visual metaphor, lyrical and structural narration, and elements of surrealism and magical realism, her films unfold as contemporary fables that probe the complexities of modern life.
